A need for new joint ventures for student - Dr. Sandeep Pachpande

It was the 5th successful year of ASM Group of Institutes & Vision India to jointly organize a high end BPO, KPO and LPO summit at Hotel Pride on 14th November 2008. The theme of the summit was to discuss opportunities and challenges for LPO, KPO Industries and the contribution required from Management Institutes for supply of knowledge and skillful employable youth talents.

Key note address was given by Mr. Dileep Nath (M.D. Kanbay) and a warm welcome speech was given by Dr. Sandeep Pachpande (Chairman, ASM Group of Institutes).The executives from industries like Infosys, Wipro, S G Analytics, Mindcrest, Boston Analytics, and Intregeon participated in the summit and the e_orts of ASM Group of Institutes were well appreciated by speaker to create a platform for interaction of industry and academia. Prof. Lahir, Prof. S. H. Kulkarni, Prof. S. P. Marathe, Prof. Ashish Dixit and Prof. Arti Tondon represented ASM Group of Institutes in this summit. The summit will certainly result in long term association of KPO, BPO, and LPO Industries with ASM Group of Institutes.

Cultivating Art of leadership in student: A new role management Institutes – Dr. Sandeep Pachpande

“Leadership Summit” on 15th Nov 2008: A successful and highly professional organization by ASM Group & Vision India, a one day summit which was a complete knowledge transfer process for the students of ASM Group of Institutes. Theme of summit was “Leadership” a basic quality for aspiring manager to march on the path of success to take the organizations on new heights.

The Chairman of ASM Group of Institutes, Dr. Sandeep Pachpande inaugurated the event. The summit was addressed by the eminent personalities from the Industries. Mr. Sham Kambeyanda (M.D. Eaton), Mr. S. Balsubramaniam (C.E.O., ZensarTechnologies), Mr. Anupam Arun (Country head, Ventura (India) Pvt. Ltd.), Mr. Amit Shirke (Director, Knowledge Services (Intregreon), Mr. Venkat Raman (C.E.O., Knorr Bremse) and Ms. Prabha Shankar (VP Sales and Marketing Kumar Builders).

The summit was concluded with the key note that ”Only Leadership can help to survive in current global economic crises and Management Institutes like ASM Group of Institutes will be the real leader by importing leadership qualities in Management students through continuous interaction with industries.”

Study Tour: Jan 6 - Jan 8, 2009

Description: For a better insight into the working of industries students are taken or visits to various industries relevant to their courses. Being situated in one of Asia’s largest industrial belt, it helps the Institute organize these visits frequently and as the Institute shares a good rapport with the neighbouring industries it becomes more continues. These academic activities and assignments are designed to expand students’ industrial experience, which enables them to bring a new perspective to their classroom learning, and contribute in their education.

Company Visited: Chemtrols Industries Ltd.

Course Description: As an academic program, Industrial Study Tour to Goa provided the students with an opportunity to study company's manufacturing instrumental process like level, flow, pressure, temperature measurements & indicators. In addition, they also showed solution in the field of network management systems like SCADA.

Student's View point: It was a blend of profession and pleasure combination. The students covered a lot of outdoor activities at the Aquada Fort, Dona Paula, and Calangute & Baga Beach like adventure sports, rides, Para sailing, bumper rides, trekking and even a Cruise on the river Mandavi.

The ASM group of institutes organized the Bizz 2009 an intercollegiate Academic competition on 31st Jan 2009 at the sprawling ASM campus. Bizz 2009 consisted of very interesting events like Bizz Gyan, Biz Rugby, C pulse, Brain Integration, I2R, Tech Puzzle and saw an overwhelming response of more than 20 institutes other than IBMR, IIBR, CSIT, IPS, ICS.

The event was inaugurated by the chairman of ASM Group of Institutes Dr. Sandeep Pachpande, Director, ASM’s IBMR, and Dr. Asha Pachpande.

The prize distribution was held on the same evening. After some nerve racking moments, the winners were declared. The winners for BizGyan were - Trinity Institue of Management, for Biz Rugby - JSPM/JICA, for C Pulse - Trinity Institue of Management, for Tech puzzle - CSIT. The gala event concluded with a positive note and gearing up passion and enthusiasm for Bizz 2010.

Insignia is an annual endeavour of ASM Group of Institutes to promote overall development of students. It is an inter-collegiate event in which more than 60 colleges participated. Held from the 21st to the 23rd of February at the IBMR campus, this event is the perfect time when our students can not just participate but also work together to organize this event.

IIBR students anchored the show. The Two days activity had a lot of events like Antakshari, Mad Ads, Fashion Show, Singing, Dance, and Street Play having almost 3000 students as participants.The surprise judge for the events was RJ Shruti from Radio Mirchi. ASM’s IBMR emerged winners for Antakshari, Singing both solo and duet, Mad Ads and Fashion Show. ASM’s IIBR emerged winners for Group dance, Solo Dance and Street play, while the runners up were CSIT, IMCOST, IPS, Garware College and Indira College.

The ASM Group of Institutes organizes International Conference (INCON IV) - in association with Business Standard, CETYS Universidad Mexico, and Frankfurt School of Finance & Management on the theme “Ongoing Research in Management”. The objective for organizing INCON is to provide a platform to academicians and others related to various practical fields for exchanging their knowledge and views on the current events, trends and researches in management.

The most relevant themes in management and the topics for the debate which are discussed in INCON are Human Resource Management, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain & Logistics and Information Technology. Each year a lot of students and academicians from across India & abroad participate at this event, enhancing our reputation as a truly Global Institute.
